Useful tips

We share some tips for your trip in general, both for your wedding and for the other days you plan to spend in Italy.

1. Arrive early

We recommend arriving at least one or two days before the wedding to rest from the trip, acclimatize, and participate in the pre-wedding gathering in Cefalù. It's also good to allow a little buffer for possible flight delays.

2. Flights and airports

The closest airport is Palermo International Airport (Falcone-Borsellino) , about 45 minutes from Trabia. You can also consider flying to Catania , which is about 2 hours and 30 minutes away.

Book in advance.

Here we explain how to get there

3. How to get around Sicily

Public transportation can be limited in rural areas. We recommend renting a car if you plan to explore beyond Palermo and Cefalù. There are many rental companies at the major airports.

Be careful with ZTL zones (limited traffic zones in historic centers) to avoid fines.

5. What to bring

  • Light clothing for the trip and formal summer clothing for the wedding (June is intense summer between 26C and 35C)

  • Comfortable walking shoes.

  • Swimsuit and sunscreen.

  • A European adapter (type C or F) (Converters/adapters are also important, since Europe operates on 220V)

  • For domestic flights within Europe, your packed liquids must be less than 100ml and must all fit into a Ziploc bag.

  • Money in euros. They usually accept cards, but it's good to have some cash for small things like bakeries, parking, or small shops; sometimes they don't accept cards.

4. Accommodation near the wedding venue

Our meeting point will be Cefalù , a city just 40 minutes away, it is also an excellent option if you prefer to stay in a more touristy and picturesque place, however, in Trabia , (where the wedding venue is located) and surrounding areas you will find several accommodation options, from boutique hotels to guesthouses.

5. Useful apps

  • Google Maps, Waze for locations.

  • Trainline for booking trains in Italy and throughout Europe.

  • Google Translate for Italian if needed.

  • WhatsApp to stay connected (we'll create a group with all the useful information closer to the date to keep you informed.

  • Internet and SIM: Wi-Fi is available everywhere, but sometimes it may not work properly. If you want an eSIM, you can easily get one from Holafly or Airalo.
